Town Council

The Town Board is the governing and policy making body of the Town, consisting of the Town Supervisor and four Town Councilmembers. The Board enacts Local Laws, adopts an annual Town Budget and appoints Department Directors and Deputy Directors. (In September 1982, the Town reorganized all offices and functions on a departmental basis). The Supervisor and four Council Members all serve 4-year terms. Council seats, however, are staggered, so two council seats are contested during one biennial General Election and the two other seats in the subsequent two-year biennial election cycle.
