Downed wires should always be considered “live.”

PSEG COOLING CENTERS
PSEG Long Island is offering their customer offices as cooling and recharging centers in:
- Patchogue, Coram, Hicksville and Roslyn -- open until 5:00 PM
- Brentwood, Riverhead, Hewlett and Melville offices will remain open until 8:00 PM.
They are also opening temporary outreach centers in areas hardest hit by the storms – customers can visit these centers to get information, ice, bottled water and snacks.
- Locations include the PSEG Long Island offices in Greenlawn at 288 Pulaski Rd. and Brentwood at 1600 Islip Ave.
- Additionally, an outreach center will also be set up in the Mayfair Shopping Center located at 50 Jericho Tpke. in Commack.
These locations will be displayed on PSEG Long Island’s outage map.
TOWN OF HUNTINGTON COOLING FACILITIES
Residents without power can keep cool at these Town of Huntington facilities:
- Senior Center at 423 Park Avenue in Huntington from Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Dix Hills Ice Rink at 575 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills open until 8 PM tonight and opening at 6 AM tomorrow.
- Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo Memorial Spray Park at Elwood Park on Cuba Hill Road in Elwood is open 11AM until 8 PM 7 days a week, with extended hours, opening at 10AM for special needs children Tuesdays and Thursdays, including the 4th of July.
