3/20/2026 - MTA Road Closure Alerts

1.-Please be advised that from 7pm on Friday, March 20 until approximately 7am on Saturday, March 21, the MTA will be performing final paving work at the Oakwood Road LIRR crossingThere will be no road access through the crossing.

During this closure, all through traffic will be detoured via 11th Avenue to the east. MTAPD will be onsite to assist with traffic control and ensure safety. For more information, please contact the MTA at (718) 558-7322.

2.-Please be advised that from 10pm on Friday, March 20 until 4am on Monday, March 23, the MTA will be performing a complete crossing rehabilitation of the northernmost track at the Broadway Crossing in Greenlawn. The crossing will be fully closed during these times.

During this closure, all through traffic will be detoured via Greenlawn Road/Cuba Hill Road and Taylor Avenue. MTAPD will be onsite to assist with traffic control and ensure safety. For more information, please contact the MTA at (718)558-7322.

3.-Please be advised that from 4am to 9pm on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, the MTA will be performing bridge timber replacement work at the Stony Hollow Road Bridge in Greenlawn. During these hours, Stony Hollow Road between Wells Road and Pulaski Road will be closed to through traffic (local access only), with detours via Elwood Road and Taylor Avenue. From 12:30am Saturday through 1:45am

Monday, buses will replace trains between Huntington and Port Jefferson in two zones (Greenlawn - Smithtown and St. James - Port Jefferson) with no travel between zones. For more information, please contact the MTA at (718) 558-7322.

4.-Please be advised that the Suffolk County Water Authority will be performing water main replacement work on Park Avenue beginning Tuesday, March 24.Work is expected to last for 16 days. SCWA will begin work at 9:00am and finish at 3:00pm each day. Construction will take place between Woodhollow Lane and Broadway.
