Co-sponsoring the use of Dix Hills Golf Course by the Special Olympics Long Island Region to conduct a golf program for athletes with special needs.

Co-sponsoring a free “try it” special event at the Dix Hills Ice Rink with New York Metro Blind Hockey. This USA Hockey sanctioned not-for-profit organization is committed to helping the visually impaired enjoy playing ice hockey through the adaptive sport Blind Hockey, which uses a large, ball-bearing-filled puck and other special equipment.  At the event, it was an honor to meet Willie O’Ree, the first black NHL player, who was recently inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
