Huntington Residents

Resident Commuter Parking Permit Fee is $75 (seventy-five dollars):  The permit is good for one year from date of issue and is valid in all LIRR commuter parking lots within Huntington: Northport, Greenlawn, Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington including the North and South LIRR Parking Garages located in Huntington Station, excluding Lot #15 (station house lot/daily metered lot).

 Resident Commuter Parking Instructions:

1) Complete Application Form
2) Enclose check for Required Fee
3) Enclose photocopy of your Vehicle Registration

If you are applying for a Resident Permit, the registration must reflect a Town of Huntington address. (If the vehicle registration does not reflect your name and/or a Town of Huntington address, please contact (631) 351-3206 to request a Proof of Residency/Proof of Ownership affidavit. The completed, notarized affidavit should be returned with your renewal application and fee).

On April 23, 2012 the Town unveiled five charging stations for electric cars. They are located in the South Parking Garage at the Huntington Station LIRR station. For persons with PLUG-IN ELECTRIC vehicles applying for a Commuter Parking Permit please advise at the time of application.

Please make your check payable to Andrew P. Raia, Town Clerk and mail to the Town Clerk's Office, 100 Main Street Huntington, NY 11743-6991.  All payments must be made by check (personal, business, bank or money order).

ATM/Debit Cards and cash are accepted over the counter. If you choose to use an ATM/Debit Card you will incur an additional $2.50 convenience fee charged by VitalChek Network – not the Town – that will appear on your monthly bank statement. Credit cards are accepted for an additional $2.50 up to $62.50; for credit card  transactions above $62.50 the fee is 4% of the transaction fee.  For example a $75.00 Resident Commuter Parking Permit paid with a credit card will incur a transaction fee of $3.00.  A penalty of twenty dollars ($20.00) shall be charged to the maker of a check returned for insufficient funds.

If you have additional questions, call the Office of the Huntington Town Clerk Andrew Raia at (631) 351-3206.

IMPORTANT:  If your vehicle is out of service, do not park a different vehicle at the train station as your permit is License Plate Specific.  You will be issued a summons by Public Safety.  Please contact the Town Clerk's office at 631-351-3206 for information on requirements for an interim permit.

IMPORTANT RENEWAL REMINDER: As a courtesy you will receive a renewal by mail. However, since we cannot guarantee proper mail delivery, it is incumbent upon you to renew your Commuter Parking permit before the expiration date.

Placement of Commuter Parking Permits:

The Town understands that not all vehicles are able to conform to the standard for required placement of the Commuter Permit, therefore, if you have an unconventional vehicle (motorcycle, panel van, etc…), you must affix the permit in a readily visible location on the vehicle. Enforcement officers know to get out and look for these permits when they view an unconventional vehicle. Vehicles with an unaffixed permit will be cited as per the Town’s Traffic Code.

***Attention Huntington Residents***

On March 4, 2014 the Town Board adopted Local Law Number 2014-8, eliminating free parking for Hybrid and/or Alternative Fuel Vehicles.
