Important Schedule Updates & Department News

The Department of Environmental Waste Management would like to advise all residents about the trash collection schedule changes for the 4th of July holiday:

Trash Collection:

• Trash collection is canceled on Friday, July 4^th due to the holiday. Residents who normally get their trash collected on Friday will be permitted to dispose of twice the amount of trash the following Tuesday, July 8^th. There is no bulk trash pickup on Tuesday, please hold your bulk trash until Thursday, July 12^th.

• Please put your trash out to the curb no earlier than 6:00pm the night before since morning collection times can begin earlier than usual due to extreme heat advisories.

• Monday and Thursday collection routes are scheduled as normal without interruption.

Recycling Collection:

• Recycling for paper and cardboard will be collected on Wednesday, July 2^nd for all residents.

• Recycling collection begins at 5:00 A.M. Please put these materials out prior to The start time, preferably the night before pickup.

• The Town’s Recycling Center at 641 New York Avenue, Huntington will be closed on Friday, July 4th. It will reopen from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM on Saturday, July 5th.

 Yard waste Collection:

• There will be no yard waste collection scheduled until the week of July 13^th.
