Supervisor Ed Smyth and the Huntington Town Board recognize the need for improvements at Otsego Park in Dix Hills.  Over the past several months, the Town has been working with suggestions from the community on plans to restore the park to include new pickleball courts and playground for the children.  To help financially support these improvements, the Town secured local funding and also applied for NYS grants to see the park plans through to completion.  Unfortunately, the request for the NYS grant was denied by the state.  The Town is now looking for other funding sources to support the Otsego Park upgrades.  The Town of Huntington is moving forward with some of the work at the Park including the demolition of the old Dek hockey rink and the installation of a new playground, which we anticipate completion by the end of summer 2023.   Quality outdoor space is not only important to our residents, it is a priority for the Town of Huntington.  We will continue to work on this effort until the community has the type of outside space they desire and deserve.
