Supervisor Ed Smyth and the Town Board would like to advise residents that effective Monday, December 15 at 7:00am, the west pedestrian bridge at the Huntington LIRR Station will be closed to pedestrian traffic. The closure will extend for approximately two weeks. This closure is due to maintenance and repairs. Pedestrians should use the east bridge for crossing. Please note that HART Bus shuttle service is available for those who need it. See the Town of Huntington website for any additional updates pertaining to this closure. To aid those who need assistance, HART Bus shuttle service will be available at the station. To schedule HART Bus shuttle service from one side of the tracks to the other, LIRR riders should contact the HART Bus Dispatch Office at (631) 427-8287. These services must be scheduled a minimum of 2 days in advance of the requested date of service.
The shuttle service is available Monday through Friday between 7am and 6:30pm, and Saturdays between 9am and 6:30pm early. When scheduling this service, please inform the HART dispatcher which side of the tracks you are transferring from. This service is free of charge during the period that the pedestrian walkway is being serviced and maintained.
