Public Waterfront Access
Town Docks: Maritime Services maintains and operates two (2) public docks. Both docks are located adjacent to the Harbormasters Office at 53 North New York Avenue, Halesite, NY 11743. Vessel tie-up is limited to one-hour. Contact the Huntington Harbormaster for additional information. Phone: (631) 351-3192.
Commercial Vessels & Commercial Fishing: The Town provides waterfront access for commercial fishermen. Commercial fishermen residing in Huntington may provision and offload using Town “vehicle” and “boat ramps” by obtaining a seasonal Boat Ramp Access Permit issued by the Parks & Recreation Department. Commercial Fisherman must purchase the permit ($150/season) at the Town Hall Parks & Recreation Office, 100 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743. For additional information, call (631) 351-3089.
Recreational Fishing: Huntington provides access for recreational fishermen at Halesite Marina Park in Halesite, NY 11743. (During the summer months a Beach Parking Permit is required.) Permits are issued by the Parks & Recreation Department. Contact the Town Hall Parks & Recreation Office for more information.
Halesite North Transient Dock and Halesite South Transient Dock: Daily fees (between the hours of 9am – 5pm) for both transient docks the fees will be calculated at $5 for the first hour and $2 per hour for every hour thereafter. Evening fees which will begin at 5pm for both transient docks will consist of a flat fee of $20 and will cover the hours from 5pm through 9pm. The overnight fees for both transient docks, which will begin at 9pm, will be $2 per foot with a departure time of 9am the following morning.
