Blighted Property Restoration
Purpose
If you have received a Notice of Violation pursuant to Huntington Town Code,Article VII, Blighted Property, you may enter into a Restoration Agreement with the Town. The Town Attorney shall have the authority, on behalf of the Town, to execute such Restoration Agreement. What is the definition of a Blighted Property?
A Blighted Property is an improved or vacant property which meets or exceeds a point value of one hundred (100) points as set forth within Huntington Town Code, Chapter 156-61, Blighted Property Designation.
What is the definition of a Restoration Agreement?
A Restoration Agreement shall mean a legal and binding agreement between the Town and a given property owner, wherein said property owner proposes to complete specific repairs and/or improvements in order to resolve conditions existing on his or her property as identified by a Code Enforcement Official in accordance with the definition of “Blighted Property.” Such repairs and/or improvements shall be outlined on an explicitly fixed timeline and as such will be offered a full exemption from the annual registration fee outlined in Chapter 156-64(D).
