Crab Meadow Watershed Links
Community Involvement
A watershed is an area that drains
to a common waterway, and in the case of Crab Meadow, a high quality estuary
including salt marshes, beaches and eventually Long Island Sound. The actions
of each individual living, using, and enjoying the Crab Meadow has an influence
on it’s overall health. Human activities
and land use can directly and indirectly affect water quality and
wildlife and plant habitats. Watershed Stewardship is successful through
educating and engaging the community.
The Crab Meadow Watershed Advisory Committee (CMWAC) is made up of volunteers for the community untied under the goal of protecting and preserving the Crab Meadow watershed.
