
Dix Hills – Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci welcomes kids of all ages to ice skate for free, sip free hot chocolate and take pictures with Santa at the Town of Huntington Winter Wonderland Free Ice Skating Event at Dix Hills Ice Rink this Saturday, December 14 from 5pm to 9pm and to bring new, unwrapped toys for underprivileged children.
Attendees who own ice skates are encouraged to bring their skates with them, as the ice rink has approximately 500 pairs of skates on hand and turnout is expected to be high.
The Winter Wonderland free ice skating event at Dix Hill Ice Rink, located at 575 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills, will take place on Saturday, December 14 from 5pm to 9pm. Attendees will be greeted at the Dix Hills Park facility with holiday lights and decorations, selfie stations, and opportunities to take a picture with Santa Claus. Activities will include free ice skating and free skate rentals, an ugly sweater contest, decorating holiday ornaments to take home for free and opportunities to win prizes. The Dix Hills Ice Rink food concession stand will be open for business and giving away free hot chocolate. The crowd will be entertained with live holiday entertainment by the Huntington High School Band Ensemble, Huntington High School Chorus, and Stimson Middle School Teen Tones Chorus.

Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci is encouraging attendees to bring new, unwrapped toys for underprivileged children.
“Don’t let a child wake up Christmas morning without a present to open – please donate new, unwrapped toys, books or games,” said Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci. “It may be the only gift that child receives this year.”
New, unwrapped toys may also be dropped off in the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots donation boxes at the following Town facilities now through Friday, December 20:
- Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington
- Dix Hills Ice Rink, 575 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills
- Huntington Highway Department, 30 Rofay Drive, Huntington
- Town Senior Center, 423 Park Avenue, Huntington
