Lupinacci has teamed up with the Suffolk County Senior Citizens Fishing Club,
the Imperial Sportsmen’s Club of Long Island, and Captain James Schneider of
the James Joseph II to offer a free fishing trip to 30 lucky Town of Huntington
kids ages 9-13, taking place July 30 from 12pm to 4pm, disembarking from the
Town of Huntington dock next to 95 New York Avenue, Halesite.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for
kids who would otherwise never step foot on a fishing boat to learn about
fishing as a recreation or as a possible future career,” announced Supervisor
Chad A. Lupinacci. “We are grateful to the Suffolk County Senior Citizens
Fishing Club, the Imperial Sportsmen’s Club of Long Island and Captain James
Schneider of the James Joseph II for offering to dedicate your time, expertise
and resources to give back to thirty children across the Huntington community.”
The free “Take A Kid Fishing” trip
will take place on Tuesday, July 30 from 12pm to 4pm. Four James Joseph II ship
mates will provide all equipment and instruction; four fishing club members
will provide individual assistance and tips on fishing and conservation.
Entrants must be Town of Huntington
residents, age 9-13 on the trip date; Tuesday, July 30. The trip will disembark
at 12pm from the Town dock off the municipal lot next to 95 New York Ave,
Halesite. The boat is wheelchair-accessible. Enter the fishing trip lottery

Lottery winners will be notified the
week of the lottery drawing, including further instructions for the day of the
trip. Once winners are selected, a limited number of additional attendees may
be added on first-come, first-served basis, as space is limited: $30/additional
child (age 12 & under), $45/additional person (age 13 & up), payable on
board to “The James Joseph II.”
