Grievance FAQ’s

 By when do I need to file my Grievance?

Grievance Day is the Third Tuesday in May. An originally signed copy of your Grievance MUST be filed with the Assessor’s Office on or before this date. No faxed or emailed copies will be accepted.  Forms are available In April.

How do I go about filing a Grievance to lower my Assessment?

Grievance Complaint forms and a Fact Sheet with instructions for filing a complaint are available in the Assessor’s Office, in Room 100 of Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743 after APRIL 1ST and on the Forms and Applications page of the website.
