Annual Grease & Oil Removal (for restaurants in the Huntington Sewer District only)

Restaurants located within the Town of Huntington Sewer District are required to be equipped with a Grease Interceptor, which pre-treats the wastewater you discharged from the building before it enters the Town’s sewer system. Town of Huntington Code 164-13.F(3) requires all grease and oil interceptors be maintained by the owner, at their expense and in continuously efficient operation at all times. This prevents blockages in the sewer pipelines, and the efficient treatment of wastewater at the Publicly Owned Treatment Works.
Town of Huntington Code 164-13.F(4) requires the owner retain, for one (1) year, all records of removal of grease, oil, hair and sand from an interceptor and shall make these records available to the Superintendent or their designee, upon request. Such records shall include the date of removal, the quantity removed, the name of the hauler and the disposal site. Failure to produce said records upon request will be deemed a violation of this chapter.
