Boat Rack Program

Boat racks are located at the Senior Beach House waterfront and are available to Huntington seniors on a limited basis. There is a $25.00 fee for all renewals and/or new applications per boat rack space at the Centerport Senior Beach House. Boats are permitted Memorial Day weekend to October 31st. The senior boat racks are filled. Wait list available. Call the Senior Center at (631) 351-3253. 

The Senior Membership Card is required for participation in all senior activities, programs and clubs. If you are a Huntington resident and you are at least 60 years of age, you can obtain a membership card at the Senior Center, Beach House or from your Club Leader. Please bring proof of residency and age (such as driver’s license, utility bill, etc.). Many vendors accept this card for senior discounts.

Town of Huntington Boat Rack Program Rules & Regulations

  • Applicants must be a Town of Huntington resident, age 60 years or older and must have a Town of Huntington Pink Senior Membership Card.
  • All new applications must be done by appointment only. Please call the Senior Center located at 423 Park Avenue, Huntington (631) 446-3709 to set up your appointment with Zaida. A $25.00 Renewal or New Application Fee applies.
  • If there is no available space, applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Racks will be assigned as space becomes available. Applicants who decline a rack space will be removed from the waiting list.
  • No motors on boats and no rubber rafts are permitted.
  • No vessel larger than 14 feet is allowed on the boat racks.
  • Boats must be stored on their assigned racks, with the boat rack permit decal visible.
  • Any boat found without a valid permit decal will be impounded by the Huntington Harbor Master’s office at a fee of $100.00.
  • Boat owners are responsible for providing their own locks and locking their boats. The Town of Huntington is not responsible for any loss or damage.
  • Boats on the Senior Boat Rack are for use by Huntington seniors only. Abuse of this privilege will result in boat removal by the Huntington Harbor Master's office at a fee of $100.00.
  • It has come to our attention that some of our seniors are securing their kayak spots for others including non-residents, friends and underage family members. We provide all kayak spaces for our qualifying resident seniors only. Some of our seniors have been waiting for spots for several years. Those who do not comply with all rules and regulations may be subect to losing their assigned spots. We appreciate everyone's cooperation.
  • Rack tenants in good standing, will be given the opportunity to renew their rack space annually. However, application renewals must be received by March  30, 2025.
  • NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Boats can be placed on their assigned racks the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 2025.
  • All users must remove their boats from the racks no later than November 1, 2025. Any boats left after that time will be impounded by the Huntington Harbor Master’s office at a fee of $100.00. *Town code 126-26 (J)
