Meet the Staff

Julia Frangione, Director, holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing and has worked in the Senior Division since 2007. Her background in senior recreation, marketing and management, plus her energy and resourcefulness make Huntington's senior programs and services informative, interesting and enjoyable.

Julia is exceedingly passionate about her job and feels she is extremely fortunate to be working with the Town’s seniors, whom she absolutely loves!

Geri VanDyke, Supervisor, Home Delivered Meals Program, holds a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and has over 20 years of experience working in private homes and skilled nursing facilities. Her involvement with senior citizens and their families during the aging process has focused on improving communication with loved ones, the use of memory aides to maintain quality of life, and in meeting the challenges of proper nutritional intake in advancing years. Geri, along with the Senior Division staff helps members of the community maintain their quality of life and remain in their homes.

Rachel Michaelis, Assistant Adult Day Care Program Supervisor, graduated from The University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Communications. When attending the American of Dramatic Arts and working at a nursing home she found her calling in life working with the elderly. After 21 years employed by the nursing home, Rachel came to the Town of Huntington and is extremely excited being involved with our Adult Day Care Program.

Lorenzo (Lou) Horne, Residential Repair Program Coordinator, came out of retirement in 2008 to help other seniors. He supervises a crew of four who perform household repairs. He worked previously as a Rehabilitation Counselor for North Shore Hospital and Association for Help of Retarded Children, a Civil Engineer Aide for Levitt & Sons and Facility Manager for Tilles Investment. Hobbies include: Music, History and Carpentry. “Helping other seniors is my passion of joy.”

Maria Soskel, Coordinator of Volunteer Programs, since 2000. She says “having the opportunity to meet so many wonderful individuals with diverse personalities and placing them in positions within the senior division, has been inspiring.” Maria’s enthusiasm for her position equals her passion for seniors. As of 2013, Maria is bringing that passion and experience to coordinating the Town's 9 senior clubs and running Huntington's Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program (EISEP).
