The Office of the Fire Marshal is responsible for promoting fire safety issues throughout the Town.  Primary duties include:

• Issuance of construction permits for the installation of fire protection systems.
• Issuance of operational permits to allow an applicant to conduct business activities pursuant to the Fire Prevention Code of the Town of Huntington.
• Performance of annual inspections of all commercial properties within the Town of Huntington to determine compliance with State and local fire codes.
• Issuance of notices of violations and criminal appearance tickets to ensure compliance with State and local fire prevention ordinances.
• Conduct cause and origin investigations at the scene of all large fire that occur within the Town of Huntington.
• Assist the twelve (12) fire districts within the Town of Huntington by creating and maintaining pre-incident fire plans for all commercial properties within the confines on the Town of Huntington.
