Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society

The Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society was formed in 1985 to preserve and restore Huntington Harbor’s 1912 lighthouse, which was threatened with demolition by the United States Coast Guard due to its deteriorated condition.

Since that time, the Society’s volunteers have stabilized the structure, substantially restored both its interior and exterior, installed a new metal dock, acquired and restored an appropriate shuttle boat, and established a regular schedule of guided tours of this National Historic Register building.

This all-volunteer organization’s ongoing stewardship ensures the preservation and public accessibility of this much-beloved Huntington landmark for present and future generations.
