Councilman Edmund J.M. Smyth, the son of two immigrants, has been a life-long resident of Huntington. Edmund received an undergraduate degree in History and went on to receive a law degree from New York Law School. He practices law on Main Street in Huntington Village. He has served on the Lloyd Harbor Zoning Board of Appeals and as president of the Huntington Lawyers Club, as well as a graduate of Huntington Leadership. Having served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Edmund is adequately prepared for the rigors of leadership in the Town of Huntington.
As a life-long resident, Edmund is intimately familiar with the diverse interests of Huntington, believing that with teamwork, help from old friends and new, it will be able to make the inevitable transformation of Huntington as an example other towns will look at as a model for growth. Edmund and his wife Coriander are currently raising their busy family of four children in the Town of Huntington.
