Project FACILE

Family Advocacy, Crisis Intervention and Life Education (FACILE) Project is a joint effort of the Huntington Youth Bureau and Family Service League of Suffolk to offer a comprehensive answer to the challenges facing today’s families. The goal is to strengthen at-risk families through counseling, educational workshops, advocacy, community organizing and volunteer training projects.

What makes FACILE unique is that its core work is focused on strengthening the family unit. Youth do not live in isolation. They live within families that in turn orbit within a universe that includes their blocks, their schools, their peer groups and the wider community. FACILE concentrates on assessing and supporting what is needed for individual youth and individual families to find a stable center and flourish in a challenging world.
