The Department of Environmental Waste Management would like to advise all residents of updates to the trash and recycling schedule due to Independence Day.
Trash Collection:
- On Friday, July 3, Town Hall will be closed in observance of Independence Day. Garbage collection days are scheduled as normal without interruption.
- From Tuesday, June 30 through Friday, July 3, carters will be permitted to begin trash collection at 5:00am due to a heat advisory and poor air quality.
- Please place your trash out to the curb no earlier than 6:00pm the night before your scheduled collection day to avoid missing an early collection.
Recycling Collection:
- On Wednesday, July 1, paper and cardboard recycling collection is scheduled for all residents.
- Recycling collection begins at 5:00am. Please put these materials out prior to the start time, preferably the night before pickup.
- The Town’s Recycling Center at 641 New York Avenue, Huntington will be closed on Saturday, July 4. It will reopen on Tuesday, July 7.\
Yardwaste Collection:
- There is no yardwaste collection scheduled for the week of June 29.
