The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance will begin issuing STAR credits to eligible homeowners in early December. Providing the State has the necessary information to issue your STAR credit, and you are eligible, you can expect to receive your credit before your school tax due date. If you are ineligible or if the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance requires additional information to issue your STAR credit, they will send you written correspondence.
The STAR Credit Delivery Schedule lookup system provides the most recently updated information available for your area. To use the Delivery Schedule lookup, please visit the following link and follow these instructions: https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/star/star-check-delivery-schedule.htm.
- Select Delivery Schedule lookup below.
- Choose the county you live in from the drop-down menu.
- Select your school district to view the information from your area.
- Select your town or city.
The lookup shows the date NYS began (or will begin) to mail STAR credit and eligibility letters to your area. Please allow five to ten business days for delivery. Specific issue dates cannot be provided for your STAR credit. If the delivery schedule indicates that STAR credits have been issued in your area, but you have not received yours, review your school property tax bill. If you received the STAR exemption on your bill, there is no further STAR benefit to receive this year. You are not eligible for the STAR credit in any year you receive a STAR exemption.
