The Town of Huntington is pleased to announce the commencement of construction at Halesite Marina Park! Halesite Marina Park is the waterfront park located directly behind the Halesite Fire Department north of Halesite Marina. In the coming months the entire Park will be undergoing a major facelift.
The entire bulkhead which is now 60 years old is being replaced and new expanded floats will be added for transient and resident boaters. The parking lot is being redesigned to improve traffic flow and add an additional 15 parking stalls. The existing flagpole is being replaced and will include a flag lighter with LED lighting. The overall look of the park will be consistent with Halesite Marina, concrete paths will be replaced with brick pavers and decorative pedestrian street lighting. Lastly, the entire park will be replanted with native species plants and natural pollinators to improve the overall environmental feel of the park.
The project is slated to be completed by the end of summer 2024, with planting set to begin in the fall of 2024. For a Concept Plan of the Park please click this link for greater detail.
