The public is invited to honor our veterans at Huntington Town Hall, Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 12:00 PM on Huntington Veterans Plaza, 100 Main Street, Huntington, in commemoration of Memorial Day. Wreaths will be placed at the World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, and Women’s Veteran Monuments and to honor our troops in the Middle East; Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
This year’s ceremony will honor World War II “Ghost Army Soldiers” of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops. This top-secret unit of 1,100 artists, designers and sound engineers accomplished a unique mission by staging elaborate ruses to divert the enemy.
