Huntington
– Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci directed that flags on all Town of
Huntington buildings be flown at half-staff Monday, November 15 through
Friday, November
19 to honor former Supervisor Kenneth C. Butterfield.
“The
Town mourns the loss of former Supervisor Kenneth Butterfield, who
invested in notable infrastructure projects, such as the HART Bus system
and the Huntington
Station commuter parking facility, while advocating for our environment
and expanding senior services,” said Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci.
In
January 1973 Kenneth C. Butterfield became the Town of Huntington’s
first full-time Town Attorney. In 1975, he was appointed by the Town
Board to fill a vacancy
in the office of the Supervisor, and was elected and re-elected in 1977,
1979 and 1981, when the Supervisor’s term of office was two years.
