Huntington – Supervisor Chad A.
Lupinacci had purple lights installed on the lampposts lining the walkway on
the front lawn of Huntington Town Hall on Monday, August 31 to draw attention
to preventable overdose deaths on International Overdose Awareness Day.
“This week, Town Hall is lit up in
purple for the entire week to observe International Overdose Awareness Day. The
purple lights serve as a striking tribute and reminder that overdose deaths are
preventable -- we want to remove the stigma for those who want to ask for help,
especially when so many people in our community are now also dealing with the
tough hand the COVID-19 public health and economic crisis has handed us,” said
Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci.
