– Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci celebrated the 107th year of life for Huntington
resident Rosalia Maria Zona alongside her family on Sunday, June 23 at
Jonathan’s Ristorante in Huntington village.
“Rosalia is
a role model for all of Huntington,” said Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci. “I am
honored to have been invited to an event for someone so special, and she is a
fantastic singer too.”
Rosalia was
born on June 17, 1912 in New York City, just two months after the Titanic sank.
After a teen modeling career, which started at age 14, Rosalia attended the
Fashion Institute of Technology where she obtained an Associates’ Degree in
Advertising and Communication. She dated tennis player Don Budge, who won
Wimbledon in 1937 and would “kiss the tennis ball” for her.
Rosalia has
five children with ex-husband Raymond Havlicek. As of late, Rosalia is taking
piano lessons once a week; she even sang the Star-Spangled Banner as well as
six other songs to the attendees of her birthday party.
