Announces
Exhibit Honoring Town of Huntington Fire Departments and Ambulance Squads
Huntington – Huntington Town Clerk
Jo-Ann Raia was presented with a Proclamation by the Huntington Town Board
during the recent Town Board meeting May 1, 2018. Each year, the Town of
Huntington recognizes the work of Ms. Raia and all Town/Municipal Clerks by
recognizing International Municipal Clerk’s Week.
Since 2003, the Huntington Town
Clerk has presented an exhibit to celebrate Municipal Clerk’s Week. This year,
the Town’s 12 Fire Departments and 2 Rescue Squads will be featured in Town
Hall. This exhibit will display numerous artifacts and pictures detailing the
nearly 175 years the volunteers from these Fire Departments and Rescue Squads
have served and protected the Town of Huntington.
In accepting the Proclamation, Ms.
Raia thanked the Town Board and encouraged our residents to view the exhibit
(located on three floors) and to bring their families. She said: “Our residents
volunteer their services to protect the rest of us. They miss family dinners
and events when called to a fire or person who needs medical assistance.”
The exhibit is titled “Lest We
Forget Those Who Preserve Life and Property – Honoring the Town of Huntington
Fire Departments and Ambulance Squads”, and will remain on display from May
until December 2018.
