Youth

The Town of Huntington Youth Bureau and its related agencies and programs were established to promote the growth, development and well-being of youth and families in Huntington, concentrating on those issues and problems challenging youthful residents: drugs and alcohol, juvenile delinquency, runaway and homelessness and secondary school dropouts. Programs are designed to build educational and work skills, strengthen families and develop the sense of pride and self-worth that young people need to thrive and succeed.

Huntington was the first town in New York State to form a Youth Bureau as an agency of the local municipal government and has continued to be a leader in the field of youth services.
