On Saturday, March 23rd,
Huntington Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia was recognized as one of the Women of
Distinction by Senator James Gaughran, 5th Senatorial District of
New York.
As Raia was one of a group of 15
women honored for their service to their Community, Senator Gaughran recognized
each individual with a Certificate of Recognition and an overview of their
careers.
As she was presented her award last,
Senator Gaughran reflected back on the first time they met while running for
office in Huntington.
“After 38 years as Town Clerk, I am
honored to be recognized by Senator Gaughran. Public service has always been an
integral part of my mission to assist our residents and to give back to the
Huntington Community”, commented Ms. Raia.
