3/7/2018 - Huntington to Honor Hero Teacher Scott Beigel Wednesday March 14th
Huntington Town Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci and members of the Huntington Town Board will hold a vigil in memory of the victims of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, February 14. The Town will be honoring the memory of hero-teacher Scott Beigel, the former Dix Hills resident who gave his life protecting students during the shooting.
Mr. Beigel was born and raised in Dix Hills, where his parents, Michael Schulman and Linda Beigel-Schulman, still live. They will be participating in the vigil.
Supervisor Lupinacci has met with Superintendents from Huntington’s school districts to discuss school safety measures for the students and faculty across the town. The Superintendents and the school districts have been invited to the vigil.
The vigil, open to the general public, is scheduled for 4:30 PM Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington, New York.
