1/26/2018 - Lupinacci Addresses Voting Rights Forum
Huntington Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci participated recently in a Voting Rights forum sponsored by Temple Beth El’s Chai Club and the Long Island Network for Change.

The January 21 forum, entitled “Voting Rights: Democracy Works Best When Everyone Participates,” addressed topics such as early voting, voter turnout, access for minorities and rhe disabled and civic engagement. Supervisor Lupinacci, who served on the Election Law Committee in the New York State Assembly before becoming town supervisor earlier this month, spoke about proposed voting rights legislation pending in Albany and about how residents can become more active citizens.

“The success of any level of government hinges on citizen participation, and the most basic level of participation is to vote,” Supervisor Lupinacci said. “I thank Temple Beth El’s Chai Club and the Long Island Network for Change for sponsoring this forum to update residents about the importance of voting and about actions they can take to protect and expand their right to participate in our democracy.”
