Licensed Solid Waste Haulers

Licensed Solid Waste Haulers in the Town of Huntington
Pursuant to Huntington Town Code 117-2.A. it is unlawful for any person or business to collect or transport solid or liquid waste in the Town of Huntington without having first obtained a license and permit.

Please note that by providing this list the Town is only stating the vendors have completed the licensing process. This list does not endorse or guarantee a vendor’s work. Additionally the Town will not get involved in any disputes regarding pricing or services. The list does not distinguish between solid waste carters who provide containers for commercial trash collection and those who provide roll-offs for use in construction and demolition projects.

The licensing process does require that the vendor have the proper insurances to conduct business including:

  • Public Liability and Property Damage (with a minimum limit of $1,000,000 for each occurrence)
  • Disability Benefits Liability
  • Workmen’s Compensation
  • Comprehensive Automobile Liability and Property Damage (with a minimum limit of $1,000,000 for each occurrence with coverage for owned, non-owned and hired vehicles.

Additionally the license makes sure all vehicles operated are registered and have been inspected by the Suffolk County Department of Health and that all operators listed on the license application have the proper commercial driver’s license.

If you a commercial solid waste hauler that would like to become licensed to collect or transport solid waste within the Town of Huntington please download the Solid Waste License Application as well as the Application Instructions. Collecting or transporting solid waste without a license is a violation of the Town Code and is a fineable offense.
