7/25/2016 - Options to Help Beat the Heat
Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone wants Town residents to know about these options to help beat the heat this week:
Lifeguards will remain on duty until 7:30 p.m. at Crab Meadow, Centerport and Quentin Sammis/West Neck Beaches, at least through Wednesday. Lifeguards normally go off duty at 6 p.m., after which swimming is prohibited.
The Dix Hills pool is open until 8 p.m.
Public skating sessions are held at the Dix Hills Ice Rink from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Thursday and Friday; from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday (adults only); and from 8:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Friday.
The Senior Beach House at Centerport Beach is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Village Green Senior Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
