Subscription service will allow land use professionals to access information, create reports without having to visit Town Hall
Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone announces the launch of the Town of Huntington’s Professional Geographic Information Systems Service, a subscription-based system designed to give land use practitioners enhanced access to geographic-based data and the ability to create reports based on analysis of property-based information.
The service is targeted at lawyers, real estate sales persons, architects, engineers and planners, providing a “one-stop” location for a variety of demographic, regulatory and economic data that will eliminate unnecessary trips to Town Hall for information they need in formulating site plan applications, zoning matters and environmental documents.
“This service provides a valuable tool for a wide range of land use professionals, enabling them to obtain needed information and create reports more efficiently. It will help them serve their clients better and save them time and effort, ” Supervisor Petrone said.
Among the most unique parts of the service is the ability to create on-the-spot reports from desktop computers or mobile devices, and access property specific documents in PDF format.
The service will provide:
• Access to the latest ownership and permitting data for 73,000 properties;
• Property specific land-use documents ;
• Fixed infrastructure;
• Environmental and historic delineations;
• Property Characteristics;
• Current and historic photographs and aerials.
The annual fee for the service is $600 for access from any desktop computer; $700 a year with additional access from a mobile phone. Persons who subscribe will be given a login that will work on any of the platforms. The mobile access works with both Android and IOS phones, and uses the phone’s internal GPS to identify the location of a property. The service can also be purchased on a monthly basis at a higher annualized rate.
Person wishing to subscribe can bring a check to the Department of Planning and Environment at Town Hall; those wishing to use a credit card can access a PayPal application at
