Petrone Participates in Action Long Island Housing Panel

Woodbury, NY – Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone recently took part in a panel discussion sponsored by the networking group Action Long Island about how to broaden Long Island’s housing stock to provide options for young people entering the workforce.

Supervisor Petrone spoke about existing and planned mixed use buildings in Huntington Village that help create the type of walkable community young people say they prefer, as well as other proposals for workforce housing, including ideas in the recent Huntington Station development strategy presented by master developer Renaissance Downtowns and accepted by the Town Board.

Joining Supervisor Petrone on the June 27 panel were Donald Monti, president and chief executive officer of Renaissance Downtowns; Michael Dubb, principal and founder of the Beechwood Organization; and Cara Longworth, executive director of the Long Island Regional Planning Council. The panel was moderated by Giovanna Drpic, host of FiOS 1 News Magazine.
